One of our big goals here at C-U at Home is educating the community about the complex issues surrounding homelessness. Schools are a natural fit for a partnership in that arena. Everyone in the community is affected by homelessness in one way or another, and people of all ages are equipped to learn and make a difference—right now and in the future. We would love to help your students develop their civic awareness and engagement.
How Your Educational Institution Can Help
Host a Speaker
The first step is education. We would love to come to your school, college, university, or other place of learning to talk about homelessness in Champaign-Urbana, what C-U at Home does to help people in need, and how your students (and faculty) can help. Get us on your schedule today so we can work together to inspire the next generation.
Get Involved
We can also work together to find creative and safe ways to get your students involved in the work we do here. In the past, elementary school kids have made and put up wall decor, high schoolers have hosted donation drives, and university students have volunteered in various capacities. If your students have a heart to help the homeless, we will find a way to nurture that desire.
