One Summer Day
AUGUST 4-5, 2023
A New Opportunity to Help C-U at Home
One Winter Night is our well-known event held on the first weekend in February to raise awareness and financial support for their mid-barrier shelter program, Pathways to Progress. This year we are excited to add a warm weather event, ONE SUMMER DAY, to our advocacy and fundraising program.
ONE SUMMER DAY will be an event offering community members and organizations the opportunity to financially support and spread the word about Pathways to Progress by hosting a garage sale on August 4-5. Here’s what we’ll be doing to help you host a successful OSD event . . .
***A yard sign will be provided to advertise your participation in ONE SUMMER DAY. Informational brochures will be available to hand out to your customers.
***A newspaper ad in the News-Gazette will list all registered sale locations.
***We will be sharing registered sale locations with our campus partners so returning students can shop for their apartments and dorm rooms at your sale.
Not a garage sale person?? You can still participate! Host a lemonade stand or bake sale in support of C-U at Home. You will receive a yard sign and informational brochures also. Your event will be a great way to complement your neighbors’ garage sales!
Faith organizations can help as well!! Make ONE SUMMER DAY an outreach event for your congregation. Collect items and host a garage sale in your parking lot. Invite crafters to set up booths. Showcase those yummy baked goods that churches are famous for with a bake sale. Your youth group can man a lemonade booth. Your praise band can provide music to make your event a community party. You will receive a yard sign to display outside your church and informational brochures will spread the word about C-U at Home’s mission.
Locations of registered events will be promoted on both C-U at Home and Austin’s Place websites and social media!
