Your Support Fuels Fresh Starts
It’s incredible to look back and see how much progress has already been made this year—and it’s only May! Here at C-U at Home, every day is filled with purpose because of supporters like you. Whether you’ve offered your time, your resources, or your prayers, your involvement is creating real, lasting change for our neighbors experiencing homelessness.
As we continue moving forward in 2025, we’re reminded that transformation doesn’t happen overnight—but it does happen when people come together with compassion, commitment, and care. Because of you, we’re seeing individuals take bold steps toward sobriety, housing, employment, and reconnection with loved ones. You’re not just supporting a mission—you’re changing lives.
In this month’s newsletter, we’re excited to introduce you to Marcus—a man whose journey is nothing short of inspiring—and highlight the many ways you can continue making a difference in the months ahead.
We’re grateful to walk this road with you.

More Than a Binder: Building Structure, Fueling Progress
At first glance, it may look like just a binder. But for our clients at C-U at Home, it represents something much bigger—a step toward stability, routine, and personal ownership.
We’ve recently introduced a new binder system in our houses, designed to give each client a dedicated space to keep track of weekly goals, record progress, organize important documents, and stay focused on their next steps. It's a simple, practical tool—but it's already showing strong potential to become a powerful part of the support system we offer.
Though this initiative is still in its early stages, both staff and clients are welcoming it with open minds and a shared sense of optimism. Case managers are using the binders as conversation starters—digging deeper into progress, barriers, and next steps. Clients are learning to use the binders not just as a task list, but as a way to take greater responsibility for their day-to-day growth.
We’re already seeing sparks of stronger engagement and growing confidence as this structure starts to take root. The beauty of this tool isn’t in its complexity—it’s in its consistency. When used well, it helps transform abstract goals into daily actions, and uncertainty into a clear path forward.
Big thanks to Tayler, who led the launch of this system with vision, intentionality, and heart.
We can’t wait to see how this new resource continues to support our clients’ journeys along their Pathway to Progress—one page, one plan, one person at a time.

Marcus' Story:
Rebuilding with Purpose

When Marcus (name changed for privacy) first came to C-U at Home, he was carrying everything he owned in a backpack and didn’t trust anyone. Years of couch-surfing, addiction, and broken relationships had left him isolated and angry.
But he still had hope
Thanks to an opening in our Pathways to Progress program, Marcus found more than just a roof over his head—he found consistency, community, and people who didn’t give up on him.
Learning to Start Over
Marcus joined our Pathways to Progress program, started attending recovery meetings, and took on chores around the house. It wasn’t easy—trust took time, and there were setbacks. But through prayer, counseling, and accountability, Marcus kept going.
Last month, Marcus celebrated one full year of sobriety. Even better? He was hired full-time where he had been working just 20 hours/week, and moved into his own apartment!
That’s the power of second chances.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
