Transportation Program
According to the CDC, individuals living at 100% below the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) have a 15.8% likelihood of lacking reliable transportation for daily activities within the past year. The CDC further states, “Research suggests that a lack of transportation, especially among older adults who are uninsured and have lower incomes, leads to reduced access to health care, which may then result in adverse health outcomes” (Ng, Adjaye-Gbewonyo, and Dahlhamer, 2024).
To achieve positive outcomes and stability, individuals need access to essential services, including medical care, mental health support, income resources, and food. By offering transportation for critical appointments, C-U at Home is committed to ensuring the overall success of our clients.
The long-term goal of this initiative is to provide clients with access not only to the C-U at Home transportation program but also to other resources, such as acquiring a bus pass and learning to schedule services with their Managed Care Organizations (MCOs).
