Pathways to Progress

Stability paves the way for progress, and with progress comes empowerment.

Just like our clients' paths, C-U at Home's path is ever-evolving.

Expanding Outreach

Our journey began with small acts of service, meeting individuals where they are. As the need has grown, so have our efforts to help people take the next step in their journey.

Strengthing Support

Through trauma-informed care we  provide comprehensive case management, and deepened our services to meet the complex needs of those we serve. The journey forward includes expanding addiction recovery and mental health support.

Creating a Future

Our work is far from finished. We are committed

to evolving to meet the changing challenges of homelessness, ensuring that every person we serve can find hope and a future.

Building Stability

We started as an emergency shelter, but now focus on long-term stability through transitional housing. Our Pathways to Progress program gives clients a clear path toward independence.

Engaging the Community

We began with a small network of volunteers. Today, we actively engage businesses, churches, and individuals in partnership to multiply our impact in the community

From the Executive Director

As I sit here thinking of C-U at Home’s journey over the past few years, I can’t help but think of the same parallel paths our clients have taken.  C-U at Home, as an organization, continues to walk along its pathway to maturing its program and services to serve those experiencing homelessness and ready to take steps toward stability. Our Pathways to Progress Program is continuously improving providing client-centered goals through a set of four-phases. Each phase builds upon the next with the goal of assisting our clients in meeting their goals of being self-sufficient and in their own home.

Before coming to C-U at Home, our clients lacked the support required to progress through these phases and to reach their ultimate goal. At times, their paths had not always been clear. At C-U at Home, we empower clients to start paving their way forward, knowing that no one can do it alone!

We want to take this opportunity to thank our donors, our community partners, our key stakeholders, and our clients for walking alongside C-U at Home to continue to make its program strong and produce outcomes for those we serve. Because of each of you, our clients’ goals are becoming a reality!

Enjoy Fall!

Building the Path Home  A Graduate Spotlight

Shelly (named changed for her privacy) had never experienced having her own place. As an adult, she always lived with abusive partners. During good times they would enjoy each other’s company, laughing and getting high together. But during tough times Shelly lived in constant fear of being kicked out. She quickly learned to keep her partners satisfied and content. Unfortunately no matter how hard she tried it was never enough, and the threats of eviction escalated, even leading to physical violence. A year and a half ago Shelly made the decision to get clean and stop using substances to numb her pain. Once she was sober she realized the dysfunction in her relationship and chose to walk away.

While she stayed in touch with her partner and even contemplated returning several times in the early months, she eventually discovered C-U at Home’s Pathways to Progress Program. Being in the program didn’t always mean smooth progress; Shelly encountered setbacks along the way. However, in late August after being in the program a little more than a year, Shelly signed a lease for her very first independent place. She proudly declared, “No one can tell me whether I stay here. No one will ever evict me. This is my place.” Transitioning to living alone can be intimidating, which is why Shelly is now part of C-U at Home’s Extended Care Program where she will receive ongoing support during this new chapter of her life. Congratulations to Shelly on securing her first apartment!
