Thank you for joining us in prayer!

Each Thursday is a special day of prayer for our ministry. Would you consider fasting in some way (from food, television, or the computer) and praying during that time for C-U at Home? The work that we do is founded on prayer! Below is a list of this week’s current prayers and praises.

Praises

Thank you God for continued support from amazing businesses throughout the community including our August Business of the Month: Cekander Construction!
Praise the Lord for the opportunity to help a mother and her four month old child find treatment and support out of town!
Praise to Jesus for one of our female friends without an address who will be getting her own place and starting her new job very soon!

I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.

Prayer

Would you join us in prayer for a friend who is dealing with a recent heartbreaking loss in her family? Please pray for strength, peace, and understanding for this young family.
Please pray for a friend who has court upcoming regarding his children. Pray that God’s will would be done in this and all subsequent situations.
Would you also pray for a friend whose cousin is battling substance abuse and homelessness because of his poor decisions? Pray that God would work a miracle in this young mans life!

Praises

Thank you God for two of our friends who were recently accepted into Restoration Urban Ministries and are doing well in their new homes!
Praise the Lord for one of our friends who is continuing to work on his addiction issues at the Hour House in Charleston!
Praise to Jesus for the two women in our female transitional house who are thriving and moving forward in their lives!

For if we live, we live to the Lord and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s.

Romans 14:8 ESV

Prayer

Would you join us in prayer for a friend whose daughter has been having some unidentified health issues? Please pray for peace and answers to come to this girl and her family.
Please pray for a friend whose cousin passed away earlier this week.
Would you also pray for a friend whose daughter recently started school and received criticism and judgement from her peers for her faith? Please pray for strength for this girl and her family as they continue to live out their Christian faith!

Praises

Thank you God for the opportunity to help two sisters and their combined five children get off the street and out of town to a better, more sustainable living situation!
Praise the Lord for our volunteer case managers and spiritual advisers who give of their time and energy to pour into our men and women in our transitional housing program!
Praise to Jesus for a longtime friend who recently completed detox and now is able to work towards sobriety and healthier living!

Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord how often will my brother sin against me and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy times seven.”

Prayer

Would you join us in prayer for a close friend who is coping with the recent passing of her sister-in-law? Pray that God would shower comfort on her and her family.
Please pray for a friend who is being given a second chance after a relapse that he would take full advantage of this chance to grow and move forward.
Would you also continue to pray for all the men, women, and the family in our transitional houses that they would stay positive, productive, and encouraged as they work towards bettering their lives.

Praises

Thank you God for a family who we were able to help get out of town and to a more stable living situation!
Praise the Lord for all of our friends with and without an address who made our pork chop booth at the Champaign County Fair a HUGE success!!! And thank you to all those who came out to support us!
Praise to Jesus for our July Business of the Month: Simplified Computers for their continued support and helping us better serve our friends on the street!

Prayer

Would you join us in prayer for our all of us as we work to keep our commitments and stay true to our word? May we not over-commit and under-deliver.
Please pray for a two of our friends without an address who are toxic for one another that they may be able to find housing separate from each other and the drama.
Would you also pray for those who are involved in spiritual warfare that they would seek God and His will and remember that we battle not against flesh and blood.
