Jamie and Melissa Castle, in honor of Chuck Simpson
We see homeless people everywhere. Some of us will stop, take a second and hand them money and say a prayer with them. While many others will simply not pay any attention and go on with their lives. Our eyes have been opened thanks to such a wonderful man in our lives, Chuck Simpson. He has contributed to C-U at Home and has been a true inspiration to our family. Chuck's heart is as big as the smile on his face. Regardless of the fact that he is fighting his own battles, his commitment to advocating for others has remained untouched. His dedication to our community and the well being of so many, has opened our eyes to the struggle of so many people and families in our own neighborhood. We would like to help raise money and awareness in his honor. Thank you Chuck, we love you!

About the Event
Believe it or not, on any given night, literally hundreds of people in Champaign County do not spend the night in their own home. Some sleep with friends. Others sleep in shelters. Some sleep in cars. And others sleep outside. C-U at Home One Winter Night raises awareness about those who are homeless, helping others realize that someday that could be me.
One Winter Night will be held in the heart of downtown Champaign on Friday, February 3, from 6pm-6am. We hope to have at least 200 people spend the night outside in a cardboard box for 12 hours. We will be hosting educational presentations about various topics related to homelessness from 7pm-10pm. We will also be featuring our full-length documentary, The Phoenix: Hope Is Rising, every 2 hours throughout the night, starting at 10pm. This documentary takes you from the birth of C-U at Home all the way up to the future of our ministry. You can find out more about the documentary and find out how you can host a screening of the film at: www.thephoenixhopeisrising.com
NEW this year is the OWN Children's Corner! It's a place where young people can learn more about our friends without an address. Story times at 7:15pm, 8:15pm, and 9:15pm. Activities that we do at The Phoenix Daytime Drop-in Center. Writing notes and drawing pictures for our friends at The Phoenix. It's sure to be a great opportunity for your kids to learn and grow right along with other kids.
The goal this year for C-U at Home One Winter Night is $200,000, which will be about 2/3 of our 2017 annual budget.
